I’m an English language and culture assistant in Madrid, Spain.

When I’m not teaching in school, I’m an English volunteer for Spanish nonprofits reaching Roma, African, and other underserved communities at risk for educational exclusion in Spain. Learn more on LinkedIn.

I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with degrees in Rhetoric & Writing and Psychology Honors. I graduated Phi Beta Kappa, a Liberal Arts Honors Distinguished Scholar, and a Dean’s Distinguished Graduate, the highest honor in the UT College of Liberal Arts.

While a student, I was a part of the Dedman Distinguished Scholars Program, a merit-based, full-tuition scholarship program; the Liberal Arts Honors Program; and the Psychology Honors Program, in which I wrote a thesis on trauma rhetoric.

Summer 2024, New York, NY

I worked as a copywriting intern at IPG Health, a leading global healthcare advertising network.

As the creative lead on an intern pitch project for a heart medication launch, I crafted the final copy for our company tagline, advertisement headlines, and product manifesto.

I also supported the development of and pitched HCP and DTC campaigns for the Sanofi flu vaccine. View my work in the work tab.

  • I wrote weekly stories about faculty and student achievements and college events in the School of Design and Creative Technologies. The SDCT is a young school in the college, so I balanced objective reporting with promotional rhetoric to attract prospective student and faculty. My stories led to a 44% increase in website engagement.

  • SPARK Magazine is the premier creative publication at UT, and I was a writer for their website and print magazine. I authored the most-viewed story in the magazine’s 10-year history with 1K+ impressions and international readership.

  • I was in charge of providing constructive feedback on weekly written assignments for 14 honors freshmen, adjusting my comments based on essay type (research, expository, persuasive, creative), and student receptivity to critique.

  • The Texas Orator is a non-partisan political publication. As managing editor, I fact-checked and suggested content revisions for weekly articles discussion. I also established social media brand guidelines and curated Instagram and Twitter posts adhering to those guidelines to increase engagement.

  • The Daily Texan is the official newspaper of UT. My knack for concision thrived in their twice-weekly newsletter. I also strategized changes to newsletter writing style, leading to a 25% increase in email open rate from 25K recipients.
